Bee, Bees and Bumble info

0009

In the v15 update, one of the new hot items was a Bee wing, Bumble body and a Bees effect.  The Bee wing is pretty obvious.  The Bumble body was a bee body, which is also kinda obvious. The Bees effect had little bees flying out of your Papillon bug. Butterflies that had all 3 items together looked so cool!

It has been many months since v15 came out, and you still don't see that many bee type butterflies out. You almost never see one with all 3.  Something else that is a very rare sight, is the bee items on fireflies and dragonflies! Yes, they are all out there for the fireflies and dragonflies as well.

I have had the Bee wing firefly for a while, but never had much luck breeding it, having only 1 or 2 Bee wing offspring.  I had never seen the Bumble body for firefly before and was starting to think it wasn't real. I was talking with a fellow firefly breeder a few weeks ago about the Bumble body.  That breeder actually had some and was kind enough to pass one to me.  The Bumble body is just so perfect for the firefly body.  I instantly dug out the Bee wing firefly and paired them up together to try and get a Bee wing with Bumble body.

Firefly breeding pair:

Bee (female) + Bumble (male)

Bee is a light blue firefly with the Bee wing.  Bumble is a navy blue guy with Bumble body. Unfortunately he also has Peacock wings, which may over ride the Bee wing when passing on mutations. They are not related.  If I do not get a Bumble body with Bee wing from this pair up, I will continue to try for that using their offspring. Siblings will have a better chance with passing mutations.  I would love to have an Eternal Bee wing firefly with a Bumble body, but sadly, that is impossible.  Eternal is actually a body trait, and you can't have 2 traits in the same slot. So, when i get a firefly with both traits on it, I will just keep trying to breed a 2 traiter and just let it live out it's life in my garden. :) (I will do the same with the Rainbow body fireflies since you can not make them Eternal either)

Now, I'm not a big fan of the Papillon dragonflies. It has nothing to do with them being dragonflies, or how they look. That's all fine... In general, they are fine.  My problem is that all the dragonflies I've ever had, have sucked. They have been a stubborn bunch, never passing on many traits at all and just giving me ho-hum plain dragonflies.  I'm not opposed to having a cool dragonfly when I see it for sale. And that's how I ended up with the very cool Bee wing dragonfly and the Bumble body Bees effect dragonfly. Trying to breed them together to get one dragonfly with all traits. :) So cute with that bumble body!

Dragonfly breeding pair:

IndigoBee(female) + Honey (male)

IndigoBee is a purple dragonfly with Bee wings.  Honey is a male dragonfly with the Bumble body and the Bees effect. I'm not sure if they are related or not? They might be, the both came from the same seller.

Voo and Doo Effect Research

0008

Voo and Doo are 2 very new effects.  Both released with the V16 update.  So new are they, that neither has really been seen in shops or auctions that often yet.

Now Voo and Doo effect is a combination of a magic circle type effect + a tribal type effect.  When bred together, you will have the chance to unlock VooDoo.  I have not seen Voo or VooDoo yet, but I assume that Voo is the same image as Doo, but reversed, and that VooDoo is both Voo and Doos effect combined to create a full tribal magic circle image.

I was very happy to find a Doo effect butterfly for sale at an auction.  I was able to buy it and start breeding it with a Logo wing butterfly (one of my favorite type of wing!).  Out of the breeding of this pair, I only ended up with 1 Doo offspring! I don't know if the Doo effect is harder to pass or if I just had rotten luck. The male (Logo wing butterfly) ran out of breedings while the female (the Doo effect)had 2 breedings left.  For those 2 remainder breeding cycles of hers, I decided to breed her with her Doo effect offspring, and when she is finished breeding, I will replace her with one of the offspring from that second pair up- keeping it all in the family should help me with mutations.

Doo effect breeding pair:

Doo_II (male) + DoTheDoo (female)

Doo_II is a light yellow-greenish color butterfly with the Doo effect.  DoTheDoo is a very light purple Doo effect butterfly.  She is the mother of Doo_II.  DoTheDoo only has 2 mating cycles left at this time.

I really want Voo, Doo, and eventually VooDoo for my butterfly collection. I have Doo, and I am currently trying to breed more Doo effects for my collection.  I do not have Voo effect yet, so I will have to try and unlock Voo myself.

Tribal effect + Tribal effect = Voo or Doo

Now, I do not have many Tribal effects at all! For anything. So how do I get Tribals?  Well, sadly, they are random. Which kinda sucks... because I don't have many of them, and getting them randomly will really drag out the process considering I haven't had much luck with the whole random Tribal effect so far. I have just enough Tribal butterflies for 2 breeding pairs.

Breeding pair 1:

The_Rock (male) + Tatu (female)

The_Rock is a red butterfly with a Shimmer wing and TribalC effect. Tatu is light purple butterfly with a TribalE effect.  I'm hoping the colors of the butterflies produce reddish-purple cocoons.

Breeding Pair 2:

Gin (male) + Ginni (female)

Gin is a dirty pink butterfly with a TribalA effect.  Ginni is a dirty green color with a TribalE effect.  Neither of these butterflies are very attractive and I don't have very high hopes for attractive colored offspring.

I'm hoping to get A.) more tribals or B.) a Voo or Doo effect.  Either way, I hope I get offspring that will help me continue working on the Voo and Doo effects.

Lightning Type Unlocks Research

0007

There is one effect type I have always loved on my Papillon- The Lightning effect.  I have it on both my butterflies and my fireflies. It has always been in my top favorite effects.  Over the update releases, Butterfly Bellflower (Papillon creator) has created more Lightning type effects, all coming from Lightning unlocks.  Bolts was the next version that came out.  It is very similar to Lightning, but more flashy.  Next up was Volts. I have a few of these on my butterflies, but I don't recall exactly what it looks like. After that came Charged and Overcharged effects. I don't know what Charged looks like, and I've never had it before, but I have seen Overcharged once (I don't have it) and it is just a crazy explosion of lightning bolts shooting and dropping everywhere, constantly, and extremely fast.

I thought the Overcharged was just awesome and I want to add it to my ever growing collection as soon as possible! For my butterflies, I know for sure that I have Lightning, Bolts and Volts.  So what + what = Charged and Overcharged for the butterflies?

Lightning + Volts = Charged

Lightning + Bolts = Overcharged

I'm not sure who all is a sibling and who all is bought, but it's time to drag out a few flutters and match up some colors.  I want these Charged and Overcharged butters bad!  I have 2 breeding pairs of butterflies, 1 for Charged and 1 for Overcharged.

Butterfly breeding pair 1:

Thunderstruck (male) + Livewire (female)

Thunderstruck is a blue butterfly with Lightning effect.  Livewire is a blue butterfly with Peacock wing and the Volt effect. Not related. Nice colors so the offspring should be a nice color. Love the Peacock wing too, so I would be more then happy to have that pass as well. :)

Butterfly breeding pair 2:

MetallicA (female) + Thunderbug_II (male)

Metallica is a red butterfly with Deathly wing, Blinky body, and Lightning effect.  Thunderbug_II is a gleaming blue Bolt effect butterfly.  Can't wait to see their offspring!

Butterflies aren't the only one who have the Lightning effect. My favorite, the fireflies, have it as well.  What I don't know, is if the fireflies have the other Lightning type effects as well? The Papillon Info site shows that Bolts effect is available, but it doesn't list any other Lightning effects, but, as I stated before, that site isn't 100% up to date. I don't have the Bolts effect for fireflies, and I've never seen any other type of Lightning effect for the fireflies either. Now, I could ask one of the firefly breeders in the Papillon group, those who would be in the know about if those effects are out for fireflies or not.... but, I thought it would be much more fun to breed some Lightning fireflies and see how far I get on my own. :D

I have 1 Lightning breeding pair so far.

Firefly breeding Pair:

Thor (male) + Storm (female)

Thor is a bright yellow Lightning effect firefly. Storm is a very light green firefly with a Sparkling body firefly with a Lightning effect.  I don't believe either firefly is related to each other.

Soon we will start getting some results, let's just hope they are good ones! :D

Wonder Butterfly Info

0006

The Wonder butterflies...

Honestly... I don't know too much about them, and I've never seen it.

And that makes me want them all the more!!

Ok. So here is what I do know about them:

There are 4 Wonder butterflies- WonderA, WonderB, WonderC, and WonderD.  The Wonders are a type of wing. They are unlocks.

Rainbow wing + Rainbow wing = The Wonder wings

Ok, so like I said... not a lot of info to go on.

Rainbow wings are not unlockables. Like the Rainbow bodies, they are random chance mutations. I have never been a big fan of the Rainbow wings on any of my Papillon bugs, and do not have very many (if any) in my inventory.  Before I could even get started on unlocking these new wings, I had to go shopping first.

Now I have 2 breeding pairs, 4 different Rainbow wing butterflies.

Breeding pair 1:

Rain4 (female) + Rain3 (male)

Rain4 is a steel blue RainbowB wing butterfly. Rain3 is a grass green RainbowH wing butterfly. Even though the green is not the prettiest color of green, the blue with it should produce tolerable colored cocoons.  So far, the only offspring from them has been another RainbowB wing, which is fine. I would like more Rainbow wings to work with, hopefully being able to pair up siblings, for better mutation chances, in the future.

Breeding pair 2:

Rain2 (female) + Rain1 (male)

Rain2 is a purple butterfly with RainbowD wings and a Glowing body. Rain1 is dark purple butterfly, also with RainbowD wings. No mutations on offspring yet.

I'm really looking forward to possibly unlocking any of the Wonder wings, or at least getting more Rainbow wings so I can keep trying.

Rainbow Body Fireflies

0005

No unlock work this time around! Just regular breeding attempting to increase the number of a certain mutation(s) in my collection.

I recently found out about the Rainbow bodies available for fireflies.  Rainbow bodies are not traits/ mutations that you can unlock, they come from random chance. There are 4 different Rainbow bodies- Rainbow, RainbowB, RainbowC, and RainbowD. All 4 of them are gorgeous bodies.  I prefer these Rainbow bodies much more then the Rainbow bodies on the butterflies. I had never seen these for sale or trade before.  I acquired one of each from a very kind fellow firefly breeder. I think they are very beautiful and I would love to have more of them in my collection for future pair ups. It was a little bit of a challenge to find something cool to pair with each ones unique color combinations.

Breeding pair 1:

MellowYellow (male) + Carrot (female)

MellowYellow is a bright yellow-green Eternal body, Pansey wing firefly with Rainbow effect. Carrot is a dark rose pink firefly with the RainbowB body.  MellowYellow is a terrible mate for Carrot. I fucked up when picking out who would breed with her. MellowYellow is a bad choice because he already has a trait for his body- Eternal.  You can only have one trait per slot- body, wing, and effect. Now if I get a body trait, it will be 50/ 50 chance which body it will be, instead of the higher chance of having it be a RainbowB body if there had only been one body trait in the pair. Grrrr. Should I try to find a different mate?? I don't know what I want to do. :/ They have had only 1 offspring so far- an ugly green Pansy wing, Eternal body, Rainbow Effect. I think I am going to find a replacement mate for Carrot before their breeding cycle continues any farther.

UPDATE:  New Mate for Carrot:

Autum (male) + Carrot (female)

Autum is a pumpkin orange firefly with a Leaf wing and Rainbow effect. The colors of the firefly will make a much nicer mix, and the Leaf wing with the RainbowB body will also match much nicer. I'm really looking forward to seeing the offspring of this pair. :)

Breeding pair 2:

Dreadnought (male) + BubbleBobble (female)

Dreadnought is a candy apple red firefly with the RainbowC body. This Rainbow body is my favorite. I just love the color combonation!  BubbleBobble is a purple firefly with Stained wings and a Bubble effect. Red makes purple, so they should produce a very nice purple-red shade.  They have had one offspring so far, but with no traits at all.

Breeding pair 3:

Pastel (male) + GirlyGirl (female)

Pastel is a Rainbow body firefly, in a unique shade of pink... I'm not a huge fan of this Rainbow body.  The other bodies are so much brighter, and this one is just too.......pastel.  GirlyGirl is a very pretty purple Oops wing firefly with a Rainbow effect.  Hopefully this pair will have a nice color combonation and I would love to see the Rainbow effect with the Rainbow body. :)

Breeding pair 4:

Socks (female) + PetalRed (male)

I *LOVE* Socks! So pretty! Socks is a RainbowD body firefly, with Tattered wings.  PetalRed is a firefly with Eternal body and Petal wings. I know, I know... both fireflies have a body trait and that's not a good thing... but I really wanted the RainbowD body to have Petal wings, and this was the only Petal wing I had. She is an ugly color also and the one offspring they have had so far was extremely fugly AND it was Eternal body! Grrr.  I'm hoping that the other offsprings will look better in color and have the RainbowD body (of course!)

These are the 4 Rainbow bodies I am working with.  They have just started breeding.  I am really excited to see what I get from them. :D  I really hope to get more Rainbow bodies, of each type. Then I can breed those siblings together, soon having a massive army of Rainbow bodies, then take over the world!!! MAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Angelic Body Firefly Info

0004

Something I have been working on since before I started this work journal, is an Angelic body firefly.  I only recently found out about the Angelic body being available for the fireflies.  As soon as I found out about it, I wanted to try my hand at unlocking it for myself.

To unlock Angelic body on firefly, you need the following:

Sparkling body + Sparkling body = Angelic body

I did not have any Sparkling body fireflies in my collection, so I had to ask around if anyone had some for sale.  Not many people like the fireflies, so there aren't that many breeders that trade / sale.  Thanks to some generous firefly breeding fans, I was giving a few Sparkling bodies to work from.

Breeding pair 1:

Northstar (female) + Wipeout (male)

Northstar is a bright yellow Ink wing, Sparkling body with Sparkly effect.  She is not related to Wipeout.  No special mutations due to inbreeding.  Wipeout is a dark pink firefly with Ash wing and Sparkling body.

So far, the only noteworth offspring they have produced is 1 Sparkling body cocoon and their newest cocoon which is a dull light yellow Ink wing with TribalC effect. I need more Sparkling bodies and Tribal effects, so both of those are great to add to my collection.

Breeding pair 2:

Nightlight (male) + Lamp (female)

Nightlight is a light, dull blue firefly with a Sparkling body with Sparkles effect. Lamp is a light blurple firefly with Peacock wing with Sparkling body.  Neither firefly is related.

Only offspring so far is a Sparkling body with Peacock wing. One more Sparkling body to work from. Good.

Apprentice Effect Firefly Research

0003

After reviewing my last entry, I realized I should put out an Apprentice + Nether fireflies in order to work on the Sealed firefly.  I thought I had both Nether and the Apprentice on the fireflies.  While I do have the Nether effect, I could not find an Apprentice effect on any of my fireflies.  I could have sworn I had one or two.  I think I might have been getting mixed up with other magic circle type effects on the fireflies, and that I do *not* have an apprentice yet.

In that case, I need to work on unlocking the Apprentice effect on firefly.

Any sparkle particle + Any sparkle particle = Runes, Runed, Apprentice, Mage, Warlock, Chant, Rings

I already have a few breeding pairs of Sparkle particle type in my garden, and I have had nothing but more Sparkle particle type offspring, though they are still newer to the garden, so it is hard to say yet if they will produce something other then Sparkles.  Looking for Apprentice, but another Chant wouldn't be too bad either.

4 Breeding Pair:

Pair 1:

Sick_Boy_II (Sparkles effect) + Jade (Sparkles effect)

Sick_Boy_II is a light green Sparkles effect firefly.  Jade is a light green Sparkles effect firefly, slightly brighter then Sick_Boy_II.  Both fireflies had the same father, Sick_Boy, but had different mothers. I know that sibling breeding pairs pass mutations a lot better, but I don't know for sure how well mutations pass between half-siblings.

Pair 2:

Waterfalls (Sparkly effect) + Mossman (Sparkly effect)

Waterfalls is a light blue Sparkly effect firefly.  Mossman is a light green Sparkly effect firefly.  These 2 fireflies are not related at all.

Pair 3:

PopRocks (female) + CokePowder (male)

PopRocks is a minty green Sparkles effect firefly.  CokePowder is a light steel blue firefly with Sparkly effect.  Neither is related. No useable offspring so far.

Pair 4:

Sandman (male) + Stardust (female)

Sandman is a rose pink Zombie firefly with Sparkly effect. Stardust is a light pink Tattered wing firefly with Sparkly effect.  I don't remember if they are related or not (See! This is why I now have a work journal!).  Hollow wing is the only traited offspring I have from them so far.
